Several generations of my family went to The Colonial to see a movie. I remember standing in long lines against that wall.
It was our neighborhood theater within easy walking distance of our homes. When it got air conditioning around 1913 it was one of the first in Philadelphia. They would jam the basement with as many blocks of ice as they could acquire and then run gigantic fans over the ice in order to keep the building cool.
After seeing Rocky there (I was 8 years old) I walked home, so fired up, that I went directly upstairs to my bedroom and punched a hole in the wall.
