"Shadow" is an original ink-on-paper drawing relying on stippling and fine hatching techniques to build deep dimensional contrast and dynamic filtering light. It was my primary tool for mindfulness and somatic art therapy during a cancer recurrence. The title references the shadow of the hawk descending towards the chickens. A metaphor of the psychological fear cancer brought me. If you look closely, you may notice that the shadow of the hawk has been altered. The top half of the hawk and the bottom half face in opposite directions.
